| On The Issues: |
BY JOHN R. CAPRA
As your next State Legislator, I will actively work to reduce excessive government spending. I also will work to reduce the overall size of our government. There are far too many programs funded with recurring dollars that are never reviewed to ensure that they legitimately deserve state funding. One of my first bills will be to create a Recurring Funds Review Board so that every organization, project, or program that receives recurring funds from General Revenue will be reviewed at least once every Legislative Session. I believe that the people are capable of governing themselves, rather than needing the government to dictate our life decisions. School boards, fire departments, and municipalities are far better at determining the needs of, and implementing regulations for, their respective organizations than legislators in Tallahassee. I will fervently work towards making every bill produced by my Legislature support smaller, smarter government. |
